Privacy Policy
Last updated August 2026
This policy explains what this website collects, why, and what your rights are. Inpello is the data controller.
Who we are
Inpello is a UK software consultancy operated by Lewis Francis. For any privacy question, or to exercise any right described below, email lewis@inpello.co.uk.
What we collect
When you submit the scope request form, we collect the details you enter: your name, email address, and where you provide them, your company, phone number, project type, timeline and message.
When you subscribe to the newsletter, we collect your email address and which page you subscribed from.
When you browse the site, we record the pages viewed, buttons clicked, the referring site, a broad device type, and the country your request came from.
Analytics without cookies
This site sets no analytics or advertising cookies, and does not use Google Analytics or any third-party tracker.
To count visitors we create a one-way hash of your IP address, browser user agent, a secret held on our server, and the current date. The hash cannot be reversed to identify you, and because the date forms part of it, the same visitor produces a different value the following day. That lets us count how many people visited without being able to recognise anyone or follow them over time.
The only cookie this site sets is a sign-in cookie for the administrator. Ordinary visitors are never given one.
Why we use it
Form details are used to reply to your enquiry and to prepare a scope and cost. Newsletter details are used to send the newsletter you asked for. Analytics are used to understand which pages are useful and improve the site.
Our lawful basis for replying to an enquiry is that it is necessary to take steps at your request before entering a contract. For the newsletter it is your consent, which you may withdraw at any time. For analytics it is our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used, balanced against your privacy by collecting no identifying data.
Who else processes your data
Resend sends notification emails when you submit a form. Brevo stores newsletter subscribers and sends the newsletter. DigitalOcean hosts the site and its database in London, in the United Kingdom.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to respond and for our business records, and are deleted on request. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics records are kept for 24 months.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive a copy in a portable format. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
To exercise any of these, email lewis@inpello.co.uk. We will respond within one month.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Unsubscribing
Every newsletter includes a one-click unsubscribe link. You can also email us and we will remove you.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date shown at the top of this page.
